This is a super easy Raw Dessert. Gluten free, dairy free and sugar free. This is the link to the recipe however I substituted Raspberries for Strawberries and Hazelnuts for Pecans. It was delicious!

Making a Recycled Worm Farm
Like all good ideas we got this one off Better Homes and Gardens.
The Thai Restaurant near us always puts their styrofoam boxes out the back of the restaurant for people to take, so we went and got two this morning. I had some hessian left over from the garden I made a few weeks ago.
The only thing we needed to buy were the worms and we got these from Bunnings this morning for around $48.00 for 1200. I think we actually got a good deal as I counted 1251 when we put them in. I was also very pleased to see that we got QLD Worms.
The top box has holes in the lid to let some air through and some holes in the bottom to let the juice out. The brick on top is to keep it secure in case our resident possums get interested.
The bottom box doesn't have a lid on it and the hessian between the boxes is to stop the worms slipping out the holes. The hose feeds down into a plastic container in the tray of the wire basket.
We needed to put our worm farm up this high just in case Layla got interested.
First we put a layer of shredded wet newspaper in the bottom, then the worms and a layer of vegetable scrapes and dirt.
We'll see how long it takes to get some fertiliser. I usually pay around $40 for a small bottle of seawood fertiliser for the garden so we should see a return on our investment pretty quickly.

Raw Brownies
I've been following a blog called Fragrant Vanilla Cake. This girl makes lots of yummy looking treats without using dairy or wheat and without cooking.
I gave the Brownies a try today and while it was quite a long process they are very delicious.
This is definitely a "sometimes" food as it's quite expensive to make given the amount of nuts involved. The other challenge was cracking a coconut and getting all the flesh out to make the topping.
Lots of fun.

Chocolate Berry Chia Pudding
My first attempt at Chia Pudding
1/2 Cup Cashews
1 Cup Water
3/4 Frozen Berries (or fresh)
2 Tablespoons Honey
1 Tablespoon Raw Cacao Powder
2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
I whizzed all of this up in my handy Tribest Blender.
Then poured it over 4 tablespoons of White Chia Seeds (you could use black) I stirred for at least 3 minutes to ensure the Chia was mixed through all of the liquid.
I then poured into these 3 glasses and put in the fridge. It was set within a couple of hours.
For the crunchy bit on the top I whizzed up some shredded coconut a piece of raw chocolate and some coconut palm sugar.
It tasted great !

Killing a Cold
I have a bit of a head cold so I'm blitzing it today with Raw Food and juice.
Apple, celery, kale, lemon and ginger in my trusty Tribest blender.

A Raw Food Lunch
I just made this awesome Raw Food Lunch with beautiful Essene bread from Pure Life. It was so tasty I think I'll do something similar for dinner.
Secret Cherry Tomatoes
I just found these and many more growing wild in the back garden amongst the shrubs. A great surprise.

I had a fantastic day yesterday, I went to a Raw Food Cooking Class run by Rah from Sprouting Smiles.
It was very inspiring and the food we got to eat was amazing. I'm buying a dehyrator and will start to make some of this healthy food for myself.

Knitting on a Loom
I had my first attempt at knitting on a loom. This is like oversized French Knitting but instead of knitting jumpers for worms like we used to do at school I could actually make something practical like a hat for Meg to cover her dreadlocks.

Wall Garden
Today in my never ending search for new places to plant vegies I made a hessian wall garden.
It was easy to make and very inexpensive (under $10) now we need to wait a few weeks and see if it actually works. I've planted a mixture of lettuce and rocket.

Home Made Chocolate
I used Cyndi O'Meara's recipe and added Craisins and Coconut. It's dark chocolate and quite bitter but that's the way I like it. You really only need a small piece at a time.
